Practical support from a London-based practice

Bookkeeping Services for Businesses & Organisations

Useful financial information starts with organised records. Delakazzi provides bookkeeping support to help businesses and organisations keep track of income, spending and outstanding balances. We agree what you will supply, what we will maintain and how often the records will be brought up to date.

Record what each transaction means

An entry on a bank statement rarely tells the whole story. Invoices, receipts and explanations help distinguish sales from loans, business costs from personal spending, and purchases from transfers. Unclear items are raised for clarification rather than assigned a category without support.

Reconcile balances and investigate differences

Bookkeeping includes checking that recorded balances agree with the evidence. Depending on scope, this may include bank and card accounts, customer balances and supplier balances. Differences can reveal missing entries, duplicates or payments that have been allocated incorrectly.

Make the records useful to the next task

Organised bookkeeping supports accounts preparation, VAT work and management reporting. We agree the records and summaries needed by you or your accountant. Maintaining the books does not automatically include a VAT return, tax return or management accounts package.

Establish a workable routine

The right arrangement depends on transaction volume, payment methods and who raises invoices or authorises spending. We agree a practical handover routine and responsibilities for answering queries. Where there is a backlog, the catch-up work is assessed separately from ongoing bookkeeping.

What information will we need?

Start with a brief description of the organisation, the support required, the relevant period and any deadline. If we can take the matter forward, the records requested may include:

  • Bank, card and payment-provider statements
  • sales invoices and purchase documents
  • cash records
  • expense information
  • payroll summaries where relevant
  • opening balances
  • explanations of owner transactions
  • details of outstanding customer and supplier amounts

Do not include confidential records, identity documents, bank information, passwords, detailed allegations or legally privileged material in the public form. We agree a secure method for documents after the relevant acceptance checks.

Important professional boundaries

The written engagement defines what is included.

Preparation, filing, payment and additional advisory work are separate responsibilities. Only the services expressly agreed are included. No tax saving, repayment or particular HMRC outcome is guaranteed.

We establish the records, scope, competence, capacity and deadlines before agreeing an engagement.

Receipt of an enquiry does not mean that Delakazzi has accepted the assignment or agreed to act. Work begins only under written engagement terms.

Your questions

Bookkeeping: useful answers

Can I do some of the bookkeeping myself?

Yes. A shared arrangement can work when the tasks, evidence standards and review points are clear. We identify what you will maintain and what needs to be provided for our part of the work.

Can you work with our existing software or spreadsheets?

We first assess the records, access arrangements and suitability for the agreed work. Any software migration, new system or training needs a separate discussion; no particular product is assumed.

Does bookkeeping include correcting earlier years?

Not automatically. We distinguish current bookkeeping from historical catch-up or reconstruction and consider any effect on previously prepared accounts or returns before agreeing additional work.
